SCHOOLWIDE ENRICHMENT MODEL (SEM)

Island Village Elementary

One school chose to set aside Friday morning intervention time as SEM day. ALL students participated in mixed-grade clusters.

Some of the clusters the employees and community chose to manage are listed below:

  • Sign language

  • Calligraphy

  • Piano

  • Dance 

  • Culinary arts

  • Cake decorating

  • Photography

  • Maker space 

  • Mandarin

  • Pottery

Another school chose to pilot the program with 3rd-5th grade gifted learners and chose one hour of common instructional time on Wednesday's to implement the following clusters:

  • Photography

  • Sneaker design

  • Future Problem Solvers

  • Strategy games

  • Sewing

  • 3D printing

  • Coding

Numerous free resources to get started such as parent notification letters, surveys, student project evaluations, and annual goals to attain in successfully implementing the Schoolwide Enrichment Model.
